Totoro and Doraemon...? Though I didn't know they were anime at the time.
First anime song I consciously heard I think was Rurouni Kenshin's songs? Been a
while either way.
That sounds really nice. I think I'll have to check out With the Light.
Right now I'm reading Suppli, it's about a woman working in an advertising
company. She's a bit of a workaholic and the story is basically her struggle to
balance her work life and social life. Very normal stuff.
Another one is Train Man, which is actually based off of a true story about an
otaku who is trying to get this girl and he goes online for help. (personally I
liked the movie version better, though...)
I hope there's other good recs in this here thread...
I believe in God, but not really the Bible, at least not literally, even though
I call myself Catholic. But I don't really take religion all that seriously
anyway. Since there are so many, all of them claiming to be right, and hating
the others despite having so many common similarities...
Back on topic...
I don't believe that God can be "proven" by humans, but rather he's
just something we feel. One of those unexplainable things. I do believe that
spirits exist (mostly because I've met a few, and there's been too many weird
things that's happened to my family that can't be explained otherwise)
If you don't believe, you don't believe. I can't force you to because I can't
control your feelings.
Well, it wasn't really a "natural" disaster. :P
Personally, I enjoyed it. The story was simple, but I liked the presentation. I
watched at home, so maybe that's why I didn't get motion sickness. :P
Hello! Thanks for the support, but it won't be coming back to the gallery. Since
this isn't an isolated case, there was some discussion a while ago about where
to draw the line for western art. Ultimately, while using western-style stock
images are okay as long as there were some drastic changes made, an actual
specific person/character isn't. And that's why it was deleted.
Matthew Bellamy by
DarthTofu
I initially had no complaints about the deletion, as evidenced by my first
thread deleted
Matt Bellamy, but the more I thought about it, the less the decision made
sense.

Quote: The artwork/doujinshi you
have submitted entitled Matthew Bellamy was removed from Minitokyo because it
was deemed not to be a clearly planned art piece. Please only submit work that
you have finished to a certain degree and show effort and planning. In-progress
works are not allowed.
While it's true that I did not finish
my original intention, in my description, I clearly remember saying after I
finished Matt and got halfway through
Chris... Matt himself is finished. I ultimately decided to submit only Matt
because my computer didn't have enough memory left to finish the entire thing.
So I just added some finishing touches to Matt, hid whatever I had of Chris, and
submitted what was left.
Moreover, my piece was in the Elite Gallery, so clearly any compositional faults
could have been overlooked.
However, that is minor compared to my next point of protest.

Non-anime content
I actually checked the MT policy before I submitted it.
While this rule holds true for anime wallpapers and doujinshi, under Vector art,
it says no such thing:
Vector Art
* Vector art must be created using appropriate vector graphics software. You
may not submit works that use filters or other image editing tools which mimic
vector graphics.
Nothing is written forbidding non-anime content. I technically didn't break any
rules.
I could go on and on, and have several more examples, but I think that's enough.
Furthermore, a large majority of the General Wallpaper section is not anime at
all. If non-anime wasn't allowed anywhere, then why is there so much non-anime?
I'm not talking about double-standards, but rather consistency.
Right now, I am left to assume that the reason Matt Bellamy was deleted is
because it is blatantly non-Eastern art of an real-life eccentric British dude.
If that was the case, while I can see the logic, I don't agree with it, and
would at least like for you to reconsider the decision. While I understand
Minitokyo to be an anime site first and an art site second, I don't want my hard
work deleted without a more solid reason.
So two days ago I uploaded my vector of Matt, but it got deleted. Though I'm
slightly disappointed, I'm not complaining, I knew it was against the rules. I
was just hoping it would slide past them since I spent so much time working on
it.
It's not that bad. Almost all my hobbies are much more expensive than
anime/manga without even trying to be. Yes, in the long run, anime is expensive,
but no more than most other things.
I'm reading right now at this very moment Oedipus the King because I have to
write an essay on it... and I'm posting to take a break.
But really, I'm reading Orson Scott Card's Ender series. Well, I only have the
first three books in my posession, finished those, and am saving up some money
to buy the rest of the series...
But I love Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead.
Xenocide, while interesting in concept, drags on a bit and feels to forced.
An easy way is to set the layer mode of the scan to multiply. And on a new layer
underneath that one, use the brush tool to color in stuff. At first, just use
basic colors, and as you get the hang of it, start experimenting. Go find
tutorials online for coloring and stuff. There's a lot, and begin to experiment.
there's no set way to color, and ultimately you have to develop your own style
yourself.
There's also stuff in 's main page if you want to take a look.
There's also some stuff on my userpage. I kinda forget what they are, but you
could take a look.
I've always been an emotional person, and sometimes I wonder what it would be
like if I didn't have them. I tend to judge things on intuition alone, and often
do many stupid things.
But then, without emotions, how could I hope to understand the subtle beauty
found in the world? How can I continue to create art and music? Of course, I
could always perfect technical ability, but it would be just a pretty shell
without a soul. Emotions are required for true passion to blossom.
Furthermore, without emotions, how can I interact with others? Of course, it is
because of my emotions that I so long to interact with others in the first
place, or not at all. But how can you live if you can't feel?
Of course, life would be easy without emotions, living through the world like a
robot. But it would also be impossible to bring joy to others (or pain.
Sometimes, though I do not wish to admit it, it is fun to bring pain as well as
joy.) I do not believe it is possible for anyone to be a part of the world if
they cannot care for it.
Idk, to me, 300 seemed more a one time thing. I loved it, but I don't know if I can handle another one.

I saw it in Chinese... it's... uh... interesting. :p

OF COURSE I WILL.
I won't submit them here, but I will at DA.
And I'll make sure to note you.

Thanks very much! I just wanted to make sure. =]
Somehow I think you guys are more upset than I am.
Haha, that piece seems to always be the example when something like this comes up. :p
I made a complaint in the deletion complaint forums.

And actually, the MT Policy on vectors says nothing on non-anime artwork. Only the doujinshi and anime wallpaper ones.

Furthermore, there are other vexels of real people that have not been deleted. Everything in Vectory's Vexel Revolution gallery is in the same style as mine, which is what I was submitting it for. Yes, I know some of them are of Japanese Seiyuu/J-Pop people. However, Bleed, Snow White, A Girl Like Me, The Truth, Kill Her Off, Borrow Me Your Needle, Revlon Lip Color, and Tyger Tyger are not. Yet they are also allowed to stay in the gallery.

Non-anime artwork isn't allowed on MT, apparently.

Thanks to all who enjoyed it while it lasted!
I liked Angels and Demons more than Da Vinci Code...
Though I don't like his books much, though the conspiracies are pretty fun.

Heh, my parents don't mind reading subtitles. They usually put them on for English movies since it's not their first language. :p

Stuff that I don't feel like uploading to my devart or the official colors gallery...
Angry Girl
Experiment with new coloring style. Doesn't really look any different from my usual... D:
Environment
My attempt at those cool speedpaint environment things.
Tadpole thing?
idk, just one of those things I'm constantly doodling, only now with color!
Rito Link
This isn't actually a DS drawing, but just something I'm wondering if you think I should finish. (at a larger size, of course)
Welcome to MT, fellow Nintendo fan!
Enjoy your stay!
I've never been to one, but one of my friends says he's never cosplaying at a con ever again because weird people kept glomping him.
